out in the fresh air
feet propped on the picnic table
not three stones throws from me
a river flows north to south
though not total silence
no one is speaking
awakening travels through
my entire being
a soft quiet afternoon
slightly hot
the wind plays ebb and flow
like ocean tides
a thousand leaves gently clapping
my mind shakes loose
my muse giggles
a deluge of thoughts
line up instantly organized
itching for an escape
words rush the gate
filling empty slate
stories or poems
it does not matter
friends one and all
