12 Mile Yard Sale, Pavo, Barwick, Boston, Georgia

Pavo, Georgia, Morning Glory Bliss

foxgloves and barns edge

some days blow
you right out
of the water...
i’m with pooh
today is my
favorite
day
have you, ever been, to a 12 mile yard sale.  me either, until today, my favorite day.
down a country road in Georgia, wild with green, tall pines, pecan orchards, red clay roads, empty tobacco barns, country homes.  twelve miles or wonderful, not even counting the yard sales.
there were people meeting up with friends they had not seen for awhile.  how fun to eavesdrop on the “catching up” conversations.
finding Pavo, Georgia...is straight out of a dream.  tiny Barwick, Georgia,  has it’s own Central Park.  actually went through Boston, Georgia too.  And today, a 12 mile yard sale.
this country saturated my soul.  i ❤ this part of Georgia.
my lucky finds, two pair of bermuda length sorts, two blouses, one embroidered capri length overall jeans.  cost $7.50.
one trusty rusty iron skillet, already fired by an RV camp neighbor.  has been scrubbed with a wire brush by MyMan.  yet to be done, Salt rub with a potato, warm water wash, thorough dry, oil and bake on 200 for one hour.  the oil and bake may be done several times to finish cure.  cost $5.00.
out in the wonder country MyMan found friends he grew up with in Florida.  more fun.

returned to a rainy day in Georgia, Thomasville.  dinner tonight?  farmers market fresh white acre peas, skillet cornbread, sliced tomatoes and rice.
i’ll expect you for dinner!
Pecan Orchard, Boston, Georgia

it is so hard for me to walk away and not rescue all these babies
weather worn barn country pines and spring green oaks

more to come of this fine day.....

Georgia looks so beautiful compared to this adobe clay soil.

Twelve miles of yard sale? What a great community event. Excellent finds.
