Today began with rain and wind. Now the sun is out and the temperature is dropping. Cooler weather is good, keeps the electric bill down.
The picture was taken in the Florida Everglades on the Gulf of Mexico. Rough water, salty air, a great ball of sun sinking in the orange dusk sky, divided by a patch of mangrove wraps this coastal south Florida day.
Days have wrapped just like this for me. Not recently but not so distant I cannot recall the contentment of being there. Skiffing through sticky sea grass, searching for mullet, hoping they will pop the water so the net can be thrown. I want to roam the wide water islets and think of the Gulf that touches other shores. The boat bumps the choppy water, warm gentle touch of sun and sea spray on my face, and breathing the salty air clears my mind.
Healing experience, healing memory.
