yesterday began with blessed rain.
again, i rolled over and went back to sleep
i am reading James Lee Burke’s new Dave Robicheaux
mystery, The Glass Rainbow. good book. set
in New Iberia/New Orleans. hard for me to put down.
after breakfast and lunch Darrell took me
downtown Eureka Springs, dropped me off.
so began my wander down the main street
and up the hill, the park, turned and walked further up a hill.
shops and shops and shops. so many beautiful
things. since my last visit 18 years ago, the shops
are more high dollar. very nice clothes, shoes, jewelry, antiques, house wares, galleries, eco clothing and shoe stores. the buildings are old and beautiful and i love them. i did not buy one thing. ;-{
Eureka Springs is an arty literary town. New hippies are sprouting up here. New age shops and herbal medicines. Stones, crystals, essential oils, herbal soaps. This is a favorite town of mine. i want to live here. i felt exactly the same on my first visit.
Biker’s and motorcycles are everywhere this week.
Eureka bewitches you, in a good way, makes you love everybody.
went to echo - a free medical clinic and thrift store. i bought the book Eat, Pray, Love; a play doll for Molly; a blouse; a hand egg beater. a multi colored single bead necklace. cost - $9.00, hehehe.
