the stutter of rain ..." ❤ excerpt (c) Amy Schutzer

May Spring ~ Summer Heat

May Spring ~ Summer Heat

blazing sunset
louisiana liquid red
summer has arrived
in May
front porch rocker
fire fly nights
punctuated by
country music
crickets, cajun
bird chirps
ever present
groggy froggy’s
black iron
fire pit dancing
amber flames
all of night
begging
sixty moments
of stillness
twenty four seven
raised to a
sacred art
escape the walls
greet the forest
bow - gassho
tiptoe in
to the outside
discover
passionate
observation
of life
carve out a
place for peace
at the table
harvest daily
use both hands
kiss the blessings
remain in a state
of great expectation
rubies, diamonds,
emeralds lay
at your feet
open your eyes
gather these jewels
shine them, store them
in your blue velvet
heart
