truth may set
you free
or
make you
turn away
man hands
touching
little girl self
men having
no self
control
there were
too many men
little girl
recalled
ad nauseam
little girl
left for
Aunt and Papa
to raise
shame
cracked
innocence
open
wide
moon high
late at night
fear and dread
fragile
memories
scalding water
sweetheart soap
scrub a dub dub
pure white
towel dry
i would like
to slap
these men
these men
one and all
and tell
their
loved one's
what they
have done
and tell
their
loved one's
what they
have done
uncles (not Papa)
brother in law
cousins
(not D.D.E. or Ronnie.V.)
and
friends
protect
little girls and boys
little girls and boys
be aware

My own daughters were victims of abuse, and I didn't know until they were older. I cry for the shame that they endured, and it was not their fault.
I can understand this was not fun to write but it certainly needs our attention. You are so right we all have to keep our eyes and ears open and be aware and protect little girls and boys too. Thanks, xx
Sadly,SO very necessary.....
Important poem written with the lightest echo of the delicacy of childhood. Excellent work.
Thank you for writing this Sandra...extremely important message and so beautifully expressed my friend.
Bless your heart...this is beautifully written.

This made me sad....
Wow...this is so incredibly unthinkable - and yet it happens. What a powerful poem.
This Poem is so raw & powerful... unfortunately all too true. I am retired from the local DA's Office and saw far too many precious Victims of such abuse... it touches more lives than most people would be aware of.
Thanks for stopping by with your sweet words, we must be online at the same time!
Dawn... The Bohemian
