The Snow-Storm
By Ralph Waldo Emerson
"ANNOUNCED by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o’er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farm-house at the garden’s end.
The sled and traveller stopped, the courier’s feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm.... "
Emerson penned these words before I was born and yet they convey the winter storm. During the storm everything shuts down. Life is put on hold. The housemates maintain their privacy. A storm has created privacy.
My rain mystery is solved. Rain soothes my soul. Rain encloses me in a temporary privacy. A time out. Temporary freedom much like intentional walking in the rain. The rain falls, breath deep, feel the rain, hear the rain, see the rain, and rest in a privacy of moment.
Emerson's words traveled through time. Little discoveries comfort me.

Love this poem, dearest Magnolia and love the bridge picture.
What a great post! I loved the image of rain providing (and protecting?) us with/in privacy.
